Brussels Fashion Days @ The EGG

On 19, 20 and 21 October 2012

The inaugural edition of Brussels Fashion Days will be held on 19, 20 and 21 October. Programmed in the wake of fashion weeks in autumn, the Brussels Fashion Days will feature a panorama of Belgian fashion on the 10,000 m² of The EGG, thereby becoming the largest fashion happening in Belgium.

Professionals, the press and the public will for the first time be afforded the opportunity to discover in Brussels certain collections presented only to the international press a few weeks before, in particular in Paris and Milan.
Four major shows, directed by Guillaume Joveneaux and featuring such names as Jean-Paul Knott, Natan, Elvis Pompilio, SandrinaFasoli, Marc-Philippe Coudeyre, and OMSK, will showcase the talent of our designers.
In an exhibition space dedicated to this purpose, more than 50 veteran designers and young talents will show their work, among whom Eric Beauduin, Emilie Beaumont, Romain Brau, Monsieur Bul, Marc Philippe Coudeyre, Fabienne Delvigne, SandrinaFasoli, Mademoiselle Jean, Jean-Paul Knott, Isabelle Lenfant, Natan, Niyona, Michael GuerisseO’Leary, OMSK, Elvis Pompilio, The Cookie Therapy, … and many others!
A major fashion photography exhibition will also be held, teeming with such names as Luc Praet, Serge Leblon or Michel Gronemberger but also young talents that have earned a sterling reputation and are in search of new horizons such as Charlotte Abramow, Maëlle André, Lisa Carletta, Guillaume Kayakan and Frédérique Sablon.
The public will be invited to a world often considered exclusive and inaccessible for a weekend.

Megavino: in vino veritas

From 19 to 22 October 2012

Megavino will soon open its doors for a new vintage. For its new edition, this giant wine cellar will display its barrels to the public.

Megavino is a place where people meet, taste and also purchase wine. Glass in hand, the visitor can stroll through the exhibition centre’s broad avenues and meet the 280 stand-holders, tasting (in moderation !) thousands of wines, from more than thirty different countries.
The event also looks into life as a wine-producer, with its concerns and passions. Wine competitions, workshops,  wine-making accessories, conferences, cookery demonstrations, how to marry food and wine also complete the vast menu on offer here!

Festival of Freedom

From the 18th to the 27th of October

The documentary section, an essential part of Festival des Libertés, offers about 30 films from around the world, including a number of award winners from other major festivals, many of which are being screened in Belgium for the first time.

They present an overview of the state of rights and freedoms throughout the world, as well as an homage to all those who resist and act to make their utopias real. Whenever possible, films are followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker or other knowledgeable persons.
